Perge or Aspendos? Which Ancient Site to Choose

Choose Aspendos Theatre if:
- you want to stand inside a Roman theatre that is still complete, stage building and all
- you have an hour and a half rather than a whole morning
- you are travelling with people who tire of ruins quickly — this is one monument, not a city
- a festival evening with a concert appeals to you
Choose Perge Ancient City if:
- you want to walk a whole city: colonnaded street, stadium, baths and the monumental gate
- you have 2–3 hours and can start early — there is very little shade
- you are coming from Antalya or the airport, 10 km away
- you prefer the lower ticket: €11 against €15

Yes. The two sites are 34 km apart, about 30 minutes by car, and neither takes more than three hours. From Antalya that is a comfortable day; from Side it is a full day out, with Aspendos the closer of the two.
